You will fall in love with Iris Reticulata flowers. A vibrant blue, these petite blossoms only reach around 10cm in height.

When in full bloom, these gorgeous flowers can resemble butterflies, hovering over the ground. What’s a more stunning sight than that?

Iris Reticulata’s growing season falls in late winter/early spring. Its blooms last between 3 – 7 days. Once the plant finishes blooming, it will remain dormant until the following season. So you don’t need to trim back the plant or keep up any maintenance until the plant starts to grow again.

Since Iris Reticulata requires little maintenance, they thrive in Kokedama. Kokedama is an ornamental plant that grows from a ball of moss. Check out our how to make a kokedama infographic.

You can keep your Iris Reticulata Kokedama indoors or outdoors. This resilient spring beauty can grow well in either setting.

The one thing you do need to look out for, however, is that the plant drains well. Iris Reticulata doesn’t do well in environments where they become too wet. They will get root rot, which is not healthy for the plant.

As a result, you don’t need to water your Iris Reticulata very often in warmer months. This makes Iris Reticulata a great, low maintenance plant option, especially when it comes to Kokedama.

You also need to keep an eye on how quickly Iris Reticulata multiply. When living in ideal conditions, this plant grows rather quickly so it’s best to divide the bulbs to avoid overcrowding. When given enough space, this plant will flower beautifully.
